China has backed down on its plans for government mandated filtering on all new PCs sold within the country.  While we like the idea of protecting kids online, Chinese motives for filtering are highly suspect.   We’d like to claim that China’s reversal was due to intense pressure from  Bsecure blogs, but protests from numerous world governments, the U.N. and PC manufacturers may have a played a small part:-)
